In celebration of spring, Ivan Hunga Garcia displays the 2026 catalogue of botany compositions in the format of an exhibition. In collaboration with Abril Xavier, each Host element is designed to follow the growth of the plants that intertwine their roots into the human-made compositions, overpowering them.

The arrival of blooming seasons is often a portrait of the notion of time. That same perception expands into limitless possibilities and destinies as we assume the position of guardian to living beings. As is the methodology of Haute Gardener, this exhibition is about respecting the pace of the process by being consistent in personal attendance to our goals, wishes, and aspirations.

Within the same metaphor, watching the growth of a design garden is equally witnessed in the draft we project into our lives, where our habits, choices, and conditions conceive an individual and collective sense of agency towards life. Each stage of these wearables is never a result but a materialisation of the timeframe of an object of design since its first draft.

As that timeframe runs deeper into this project, we encounter different routes, perspectives, but also dead ends. The agency is not only ours but belongs to every organism involved in the process. It is also noticeable how an interspecies relationship is akin to a communication that is beyond language. It is physical, visual, and fatal.

This exhibition materialises the passage of time through ephemeral mediums, displaying how subjective its perception is from different figures of scale and life.

Species: Bulbophyllum Elizabeth Ann, Dendrobium Berry Oda, Monstera Variegata, Brassocattleya, Dendrobium Pierardi, Oncidium Twinkle, Monstera Obliqua in mediums of vulcanic rock, shells and Cork.
